What are cookies exactly?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember information between visits. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others help us improve the site or show relevant content. Without cookies you would have to log in again on every click, and preferences such as language would be asked for every time.

We use a mix of first-party cookies, set by our own domain, and third-party cookies, set by service providers such as analytics partners and payment processors. All cookies that are not strictly necessary require your explicit consent through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.

Managing your preferences

On your first visit a cookie banner appears in which you can indicate per category whether you consent to the placement. You can change your preferences at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, which opens a dialog where you can switch each category on or off.

You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies can break the site, for example by making it impossible to log in or by losing session information as you navigate.

Specific cookies we use

Our strictly necessary cookies include a session cookie for your login, a CSRF token for protection against cross-site request forgery, and a cookie banner cookie that remembers your consent choice. Functional cookies store your language preference, your chosen currency and the display mode of the lobby. Analytical cookies from Google Analytics in anonymised mode provide insight into aggregate visit flows. Marketing cookies from Meta and Google Ads show relevant offers, only when you have given explicit consent.

Third-party cookies

Some services on the website use cookies placed by third parties. This happens, for example, with embedded videos, payment forms or analytical tools. These third parties have their own privacy policies which are outside our direct control. Even so, we only work with parties that comply with UK GDPR and that are transparent about their data processing.

Which cookies are placed without consent?

Only strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent. They are essential for the core operation of the website, such as remembering your login session, protecting forms against cross-site attacks and storing your own cookie banner choice. Without these cookies the website would not function.

All other cookies, namely functional, analytical and marketing, are placed only after you give explicit consent through the cookie banner. You can withdraw or adjust that consent at any time via the cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

How long are cookies kept?

The retention period varies by cookie. Session cookies are cleared when you close your browser. Strictly necessary and functional cookies usually stay active for up to one year. Analytical cookies can be kept for up to two years, and marketing cookies for up to thirteen months. The exact duration is listed per cookie in the detailed cookie table available via customer service.

You can always manually delete cookies via your browser settings. When you do, you will need to set your preferences again because the cookie that stores your choice is also removed.

Can I refuse analytical and marketing cookies?

Yes, analytical and marketing cookies can be refused via the cookie banner or via the cookie settings at the bottom of the page. Refusal has no impact on the core operation of the site. You can still log in, play, deposit and withdraw; you simply do not receive personalised offers and we do not see anonymised user data.

Refusing analytical cookies means we cannot use aggregate data to improve the site. Refusing marketing cookies means that offers you see elsewhere are not informed by your behaviour with us. Both choices are entirely free and have no consequences for your account status.

What about third-party cookies?

Some services on the website are supplied by third parties, such as embedded streams, payment forms or analytical tools. These third parties set their own cookies which lie outside our direct control. We only work with parties that comply with UK GDPR and are transparent about their data processing in their own privacy policies.

When you refuse marketing or analytical cookies via the banner or cookie settings, we pass that preference on to our third parties wherever technically possible. For specific questions about a particular third party you can get in touch via privacy@fscasino.co.uk.
